Job Summary
We are seeking a compassionate and dedicated Support Worker to join our team. We provide 24hr support to 12 adults with learning disabilities. The ideal candidate will provide high-quality care and support to service users in a residential care home setting. This role involves assisting residents with daily activities, promoting their independence, and ensuring their overall well-being. The Support Worker will play a vital role in enhancing the quality of life for those in their care.
Duties
- Assist residents with personal care tasks, including showering and dressing.
- Provide support with meal preparation and ensure dietary needs are met.
- Administer medication as prescribed and monitor residents for any side effects or changes in condition.
- Engage residents in meaningful activities and provide companionship to enhance their emotional well-being.
- Implement positive behaviour support strategies to support residents with stress and distress.
- Maintain accurate records of care provided and report any concerns to senior staff members.
- Follow health and safety protocols, including first aid procedures when required.
Qualifications
- Previous experience in support work, care homes, home care is beneficial.
- Strong interpersonal skills and the ability to communicate effectively with clients and their families.
- A compassionate nature with a genuine desire to help others.
- Ability to work independently as well as part of a team.
- Flexibility to adapt to changing situations and resident needs.
