We're looking for a reliable, enthusiastic, and customer-focused Driver’s Assistant to join our growing team. Working alongside our drivers and installation teams, you'll play a key role in delivering and installing high-value equipment at customer sites across the UK.
This is a hands-on role with plenty of variety. You'll be involved in loading, unloading, transporting, positioning, and installing equipment, while helping to ensure every delivery is completed safely, efficiently, and to the highest standard.

What You'll Be Doing
As part of our operations team, you'll be responsible for:
- Assisting the driver with the safe loading and unloading of vehicles.
- Supporting the delivery and installation of high-value equipment across the UK.
- Using tail lifts, pallet trucks, trolleys, and other material handling equipment (training provided).
- Loading, unloading, unpacking, positioning, and removing packaging from installations.
- Assisting with carrying and moving equipment safely, including upstairs where required (risk assessments and method statements provided).
- Helping to secure loads correctly throughout transport.
- Assisting with daily vehicle checks and ensuring the vehicle is kept clean, safe, and roadworthy.
- Following all company driving, safety, security, and manual handling procedures.
- Providing outstanding customer service at every delivery and installation.
- Working professionally and respectfully at customer sites.
- Completing delivery and installation paperwork accurately.
- Reporting any incidents, accidents, damages, or customer queries promptly.
- Working closely with the driver and installation partner to complete projects efficiently.
- Keeping vehicles, equipment, and work areas clean and organised.
- Representing Intercity Logistics in a professional manner at all times.
What We're Looking For: Essential
- Excellent communication and customer service skills.
- Fluent English.
- Reliable, punctual, and flexible approach to work.
- Positive attitude and willingness to learn.
- Ability to work under pressure and meet deadlines.
- Comfortable with manual handling and lifting large or heavy items.
- Physically fit and able to undertake regular manual handling.
- Able to work effectively as part of a two-person team.
- Willingness to travel across the UK and stay away from home when required.
- Good attention to detail and a strong safety awareness.
- Successful DBS and employment reference checks.
Desirable
Experience in any of the following would be an advantage:
- Logistics or warehouse work
- Delivery driving or delivery assistance
- Furniture assembly or installation
- Office or kitchen fit-outs
- Flat-pack installations
- Building or construction
- Plug-and-play equipment installations
- White glove delivery services
- Manual handling experience
- Working on customer sites
A full UK driving licence would be advantageous but is not essential for this role.
