Job Overview
P & T Motors Ltd in Leigh is seeking a skilled and reliable Automotive Technician to join their busy, expanding family-run workshop. Established in 1968, the town-centre garage boasts a massive 6,500 sq metre facility equipped with 9 service ramps, a Class 4/7 MOT test station, a tyre bay. This role offers a competitive salary of £35,000 – £40,000 per year (based on experience) with a highly desirable work-life balance featuring weekends and bank holidays off and a Christmas shutdown.
Responsibilities
- Perform vehicle maintenance, servicing, and mechanical repairs to the highest standards.
- Accurately diagnose and troubleshoot complex mechanical and electrical issues.
- Conduct routine inspections, preventative maintenance, and safety checks.
- Maintain a clean, safe, and highly organised work environment.
- Deliver excellent customer service, treating every customer's vehicle with respect.
- What We Are Looking For
- Experience: Strong mechanical knowledge with proven experience working on a wide range of vehicle makes and manufacturers.
- Technical Skills: Proficiency with modern diagnostic equipment, power tools, hand tools, and the ability to interpret technical manuals.
- Team Player: A reliable individual who can work independently but thrives within a time-based team schedule.
- Licences: A valid, clean UK driving licence is highly preferred. (An active Class 4 MOT Tester licence is a major bonus!)
