Functions Assistant
Full-Time | Samlesbury Hall
Samlesbury Hall is looking for a Functions Assistant to join our busy Events Team!
This is a fantastic opportunity to become part of the team behind the weddings, celebrations, corporate functions and special events that take place at one of Lancashire’s most unique and historic venues.
Working closely with and reporting to the Functions & Events Manager, you’ll play an important role in helping our events run smoothly from start to finish. From preparing the venue and assisting with event administration, to welcoming guests and being part of the team on the day itself, this is a varied role where no two weeks are the same!
What you’ll be doing
- Assisting with the planning and administration of weddings, functions and events
- Helping to set up and prepare rooms and event spaces
- Providing a warm and professional front-of-house service to our guests
- Working alongside the Functions & Events Manager and wider events team
- Assisting with weddings and events on the day, ensuring everything runs smoothly
- Helping with room turnarounds and clear-downs
- Liaising with guests, suppliers and other members of the team
- Assisting with bar and hospitality duties when required
- Carrying out a variety of other tasks to support the successful running of our events
About you
We’re looking for someone who is friendly, organised, reliable and enjoys working with people.
You’ll ideally have:
- Previous front-of-house or hospitality experience – essential
- Previous bar experience – desirable
- Good computer skills and confidence using a computer for administration - essential
- Excellent customer service skills
- A professional and approachable manner
- The ability to work calmly and efficiently in a busy environment
- Good attention to detail and the ability to stay organised
- A flexible, hands-on approach and a willingness to get stuck in
- The ability to work weekends and evenings
- The flexibility to work longer shifts on event days, including weddings
