Main purpose of the job:
Develop your skills over the period of the apprenticeship to become fully skilled Technician.
Main responsibilities:
- To work under supervision on all aspect of mechanical inspection and routine maintenance for retail and trade customers. You will work alongside a skilled mentor to develop your skills. Your main duties will include but are limited to:
- Inspection of the mechanical systems on a vehicle against a set criteria
- Carrying out routine maintenance operations on vehicles
- Completing repairs to braking systems
- Removing and fitting wheels and tyres
- Preparation of vehicles for MOT inspection
- During your time in the role you will receive training onsite and with an external partner to enable you to:
- Basic testing of components to ensure they are fit for purpose
- Inspection of Electric and hybrid vehicles against a set criteria
- Identification of faults on complex systems and reporting them for further investigation
Skills and experience required:
- A keen desire to learn and motivation to continually develop will be essential to this role
- Equivalent to Grade 3 in Maths & English
