We are looking for a Backend Developer who can take ownership of our server architecture and API ecosystem. You aren't just writing queries; you are defining the technical pipeline and data flow. You will work closely with a talented engineering team, bridging the gap between complex business requirements and high-performance server architectures. You are the champion for clean code and stability in a room full of tight deadlines and shifting features.

Key Responsibilities:
- Backend Architecture: Design, maintain, and scale our core server-side services and database schemas to ensure peak system performance.
- End-to-End API Design: Lead the process from data modeling and logic development to API deployment, security, and integration handoff.
- Technical Quality: Conduct rigorous code reviews, mentor junior developers, and enforce clean coding practices across the codebase.
- Performance Tuning: Don't let bottlenecks linger. Proactively monitor, debug, and optimize database queries and server efficiency.
- Cross-Functional Support: Present technical ideas to stakeholders and translate business needs into scalable technical specifications.
What We Are Looking For:
- Experience: 4+ years in Backend Software Engineering with demonstrated hands-on experience building scalable web applications or APIs.
- Track Record: A strong track record of shipping clean code and maintainable backend architecture into production.
- Tooling: Proficiency in modern backend languages (Python, Node.js, Java, or C#), SQL/NoSQL databases, and Git version control.
- Communication: Clear verbal and written English communication skills to collaborate effectively across multidisciplinary teams.
- Mindset: Pragmatic and systematic. You know how to balance long-term system maintainability with short-term feature delivery.
Pay: £32,000.00-£55,000.00 per year
