Job Summary
We are seeking a reliable and skilled HGV Driver with scaffolding and labouring experience to join our construction team. The successful candidate will be responsible for transporting materials safely to various sites while assisting with scaffolding and general labour tasks. This role offers an opportunity to work on diverse projects within the construction industry, contributing to the efficient and safe completion of works. The position requires a valid HGV licence, practical skills in scaffolding, and a proactive approach to health and safety standards.
Responsibilities
- Safely operate HGV vehicles to transport construction materials, equipment, and scaffolding components to designated sites.
- Assist with the erection, dismantling, and maintenance of scaffolding structures in accordance with safety regulations.
- Support various labouring duties including site clearance, material handling, and assisting tradespeople as required.
- Use hand tools and power tools effectively for fabrication, assembly, or repair tasks on-site.
- Follow all health and safety procedures diligently to minimise risks during transportation and labour activities.
- Collaborate with team members to ensure timely delivery of materials and smooth workflow across projects.
- Maintain cleanliness and organisation of work areas, including vehicle cleanliness and storage of tools.
Qualifications
- Valid HGV licence with a clean driving record.
- Experience in scaffolding or labouring within the construction sector is highly desirable.
- Practical knowledge of carpentry, roofing, plumbing, masonry, welding, electrical work, or fabrication is advantageous.
- Competence in using hand tools and power tools safely and effectively.
- Good organisational skills with the ability to prioritise tasks efficiently.
- Strong awareness of health and safety regulations relevant to construction sites.
- Ability to work outdoors in varying weather conditions and lift heavy loads safely.
- Relevant certifications or training in scaffolding or construction-related disciplines are a plus.
