Bid Writer
Help shape business-critical opportunities across technology, workplace and digital transformation solutions.
At Sharp UK, we're looking for a talented Bid Writer to join our Commercial Support team.
This is an opportunity for someone who enjoys turning complex information into clear, persuasive and compelling content. You'll work alongside technical specialists, sales professionals and operational teams to create high-quality bid responses that help organisations make informed decisions about their future workplace and technology investments.
Whether it's managed IT services, print solutions, workplace design or visual technology, you'll play a central role in how we present our expertise, capability and value to customers across both the public and private sectors.
The Role
Good bid writing is about much more than completing paperwork.
It's about understanding what matters to a customer, asking intelligent questions, uncovering compelling evidence and presenting information in a way that is clear, credible and persuasive.
As a Bid Writer, you'll be responsible for developing tender responses, supplier questionnaires, framework submissions and other commercial proposals. You'll work closely with subject matter experts across the business, translating technical and operational detail into engaging content that scores highly against customer requirements.
You'll have the opportunity to:
-
Lead the development of high-quality tender and proposal content.
-
Work with experts across IT, Managed Print, Visual Solutions and Workplace Design.
-
Influence how we position ourselves in competitive markets.
-
Support strategic opportunities across public and private sector customers.
-
Continuously improve content libraries, bid quality and win rates.
About You
We're interested in people who are naturally curious, commercially aware and take pride in producing exceptional written work.
You might already be working as a Bid Writer, Proposal Writer, Bid Coordinator or in a commercial support role where strong writing and stakeholder engagement are central to your success. Equally, you may be earlier in your career and able to demonstrate your writing ability through a university dissertation, thesis, research project, training manuals, process documentation or other substantial pieces of work that required structure, analysis and attention to detail.
You'll likely have:
-
Excellent written communication skills and an ability to adapt your writing style for different audiences.
-
A strong eye for detail and a commitment to producing high-quality work.
-
The confidence to engage with stakeholders, challenge assumptions and gather the information needed to create winning responses.
-
The ability to balance multiple priorities and perform well under deadlines.
-
A proactive mindset and a desire to continually improve both your own work and the wider bid function.
-
The ability to analyse information, synthesise complex topics and present them in a clear, logical and persuasive manner.
-
Evidence of strong written work, whether through bid and proposal writing, higher education research, dissertations, theses, technical documentation, training materials or similar business-critical content.
Why Join Sharp?
This is a role for people who enjoy intellectual challenge and variety.
No two opportunities are the same. One day you may be helping a public sector organisation evaluate a complex technology solution. The next, you'll be shaping a proposal that reimagines how a business uses its workspace.
You'll join a collaborative team where your contribution has a direct impact on business growth, customer experience and commercial success. You'll have exposure to a broad range of technologies, services and industries, while developing skills that are highly valued across the commercial and professional services landscape.
