Summary:
Join LJWB, working with HSFA, to support older adults—including Holocaust survivors—with compassion, dignity and cultural sensitivity.
This is a mainly office-based role with community visits as required, supporting people who may be experiencing isolation, declining health or reduced confidence.
This part-time position focuses on enhancing the quality of life for these individuals through emotional, social, and practical assistance, ensuring they feel valued and connected within their community. The role is essential in promoting dignity and respect for this vulnerable population, contributing to their overall well-being and integration.
Responsibilities:
You’ll provide person-centred, trauma-aware support, helping individuals stay connected, independent and valued. You will:

Build trusted relationships and reduce isolation
- Co-create personalised support plans
- Deliver community activities and wellbeing support
- Provide culturally respectful, trauma-informed care
You’ll play a key role in supporting Holocaust survivors with sensitivity, focusing on trust, safety and dignity.
Qualifications:

Experience in social care or a related field, particularly with older adults or people affected by trauma.
- Empathetic, culturally aware and a strong communicator
- Empathy and understanding of the challenges faced by older adults and Holocaust survivors.
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team, demonstrating initiative and problem-solving skills.
- Knowledge of local resources and services available to older adults and Holocaust survivors.
- A relevant qualification in social care, health, or a related field is desirable but not essential.
