Overview
This is a Solo Driver, Tramper or Hybrid (trunking and tramping) role, evenings and nights away is expected.
We are AK Logistics ltd. Established in 2017, we have built our successful business by providing an excellent middle-mile service to big brand names. As their businesses grow, so does ours. We pride ourselves on fantastic team. We are looking for Drivers who are energetic, personable and safe. We provide the truck, but you should have a clean driving record and driving licence. Drivers will generally work from Depot to depot, but occasional extended hours and weekend hours may be necessary, especially around holidays.
Join AK Logistics ltd. as an LGV/HGV Class 1 Driver, tramper or hybrid and help us ensure freight arrives at the right place at the right time - every time. There’s no loading or unloading required. It’s all about driving safely, providing good customer service, and working positively with other members of the team.
Duties
- Shifts Pattern available: Sunday – Thursday or Tuesday to Saturday
- Full time contract with holiday pay, Free secure parking
- As a tramper driver you will be away for 4 nights/ 5 days a week
- As a solo driver 5 days a week,
- Part-time Weekend available
- Night out tax free payment (Not included in the basic pay)
- Transport goods from station to station
- No loading / unloading expected, we will do that for you!
- Reliable and safe driving with careful handling of the vehicles and trailers
- Valid C+E Class 1 license with no more than six penalty points (as well as no DD, DR or IN endorsements)
- Driver CPC card with no current suspension or revocation
- Right to work in the UK
- English language skills for safety
- Willing to undergo a Background Check and Drug and Alcohol test
Documents/experience/requirements:
- C+E (Class 1) Driving License (required) with less than 6 penalty points
- Drivers Card (required)
- New Drivers accepted based on T&C's
- Right to work in the UK (required)
- English Peaking (preferred)
- You are enthusiastic about the opportunity for extended trips, spending up to four nights away from home per week (mandatory).
- Proven experience as a delivery driver, preferably with flatbed or similar specialised transport experience
- Knowledge of current road laws and safety regulations relevant to commercial vehicle operation
- Strong organisational skills with the ability to plan routes efficiently
- Excellent communication skills for liaising with clients and team members
- Ability to work independently, demonstrating responsibility and punctuality
