A number of welcoming and supportive primary and secondary schools in Southwark are looking to appoint enthusiastic Graduate Teaching Assistants to join their teams. Schools are looking to arrange trials as soon as possible for suitable candidates.
This is a fantastic opportunity for recent graduates with a degree in STEM, Education, or Psychology who are passionate about education and looking to gain valuable classroom experience before pursuing a career in teaching or educational psychology.
The Role
- Supporting students on a 1:1 basis and in small groups
- Assisting teachers with lesson delivery and classroom activities
- Helping students build confidence, engagement, and academic progress
- Supporting pupils with varying learning needs, including SEN
- Creating a positive, inclusive, and engaging learning environment
The Ideal Candidate
- A degree in STEM, Education, or Psychology
- Passionate about pursuing a career in education
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills
- Positive, patient, and proactive approach
- Previous experience working with children is desirable but not essential
