Job Summary
We are seeking an experienced and highly skilled Senior Software Engineer to join our dynamic development team. The successful candidate will be responsible for designing, developing, and maintaining complex software solutions across various platforms. This role requires a deep understanding of modern software development practices, a strong background in multiple programming languages, and expertise in cloud services and web technologies. The Senior Software Engineer will play a key role in driving technical excellence and innovation within our organisation, ensuring the delivery of high-quality, scalable applications that meet business needs.
Duties
- Lead the design and development of robust software applications using technologies such as ASP.NET, Angular, React, Node.js, and Python.
- Develop and maintain RESTful APIs, SOAP web services, and microservices architecture to support diverse client requirements.
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams to translate business requirements into technical specifications using UML and SDLC methodologies.
- Implement front-end interfaces with HTML, CSS, Bootstrap, and UI frameworks to deliver seamless user experiences.
- Manage database design and optimisation for SQL Server, MySQL, PostgreSQL, MongoDB, and Oracle databases; write efficient T-SQL, PL/SQL, and stored procedures.
- Utilise version control systems such as Git, GitHub, SVN, TFS to manage code repositories effectively.
- Conduct unit testing and debugging to ensure application stability and performance standards are met.
- Participate in code reviews and contribute to continuous improvement initiatives within the team.
- Deploy applications on cloud platforms including AWS and Azure while ensuring security best practices are followed.
- Maintain documentation related to system architecture using UML diagrams and technical specifications.
- Support application integration with third-party services via APIs and web services; optimise performance through profiling tools like SSRS, SSIS.
- Stay current with emerging technologies such as microservices architecture, containerisation (Docker), and serverless computing to enhance project outcomes.
Qualifications
- Proven experience in software development with a strong portfolio demonstrating expertise across multiple programming languages including C#, Java, PHP, Ruby on Rails, Python, JavaScript (Angular, React).
- Extensive knowledge of web development frameworks such as ASP.NET MVC/.NET Core, WCF services; front-end development experience with HTML5, CSS3, Bootstrap.
- Proficiency in database management systems including Microsoft SQL Server, MySQL, PostgreSQL; strong T-SQL or PL/SQL skills for database design optimisation.
- Hands-on experience with cloud platforms like AWS and Azure; familiarity with cloud deployment models is essential.
- Strong understanding of RESTful API design principles; experience working with SOAP-based web services is desirable.
- Familiarity with version control systems such as Git/GitHub or SVN; experience managing code repositories within TFS or Visual Studio environments.
- Knowledge of SDLC processes including UML modelling; experience with unit testing frameworks and debugging tools is required.
- Ability to work collaboratively within Agile teams; excellent problem-solving skills coupled with organisational abilities are essential.
- Relevant certifications in cloud computing (AWS/Azure), software architecture or related fields are advantageous.
