Job Overview
We are seeking a dedicated and compassionate Night Care Assistant to provide high-quality care and support during overnight hours in a care home setting. This vital role ensures residents feel safe, comfortable, and well-cared for throughout the night. As a Night Care Assistant, you will play a key part in maintaining residents' wellbeing, assisting with their needs, and ensuring the smooth operation of overnight routines. MUST withheld nvq level 2 the job is for night carer but will require cover for senior shifts
Responsibilities
- Monitor residents overnight to ensure their safety, comfort, and wellbeing.
- Respond promptly and effectively to any calls or emergencies from residents or staff.
- Assist residents with personal care tasks such as toileting, mobility, and hydration as needed.
- Follow individual care plans meticulously to deliver tailored support aligned with each resident’s needs.
- Maintain accurate records of care provided, incidents, and any changes in residents’ conditions.
- Ensure the environment remains safe, clean, and welcoming throughout the night shift.
- Communicate clearly with team members during handovers to ensure continuity of care.
- Support residents’ emotional needs through active listening and companionship.
Experience
- Previous experience working in a care home or home care environment is highly desirable.
- Strong communication skills in English to effectively interact with residents and team members.
- Basic IT skills for documenting care activities and updating records accurately.
- Valid driving license is a plus for supporting transportation needs if required.
- Knowledge of care plans and ability to follow them precisely to ensure personalized resident support.
- Familiarity with health and safety procedures relevant to overnight care settings is advantageous.
