Overview
We are seeking a skilled and dedicated Fire Alarm Engineer to join our team. The successful candidate will be responsible for designing, installing, maintaining, and troubleshooting fire alarm systems across various commercial and industrial sites. Duties
- Design and develop fire alarm system layouts using CAD software, ensuring compliance with relevant safety standards and regulations.
- Install, test, and commission fire alarm systems on-site, utilising hand tools, power tools, and specialised electrical equipment.
- Interpret schematics and technical drawings to accurately assemble and modify systems.
- Conduct routine maintenance, inspections, and troubleshooting of existing fire alarm installations to ensure optimal performance.
- Collaborate with construction teams during building phases to integrate fire safety systems seamlessly into new structures.
- Provide technical support and advice to clients regarding system operation and safety protocols.
- Document all work activities meticulously, including system modifications, inspections, and repairs.
Qualifications
- Proven experience in system design, electrical installation, or construction related to fire safety or alarm systems.
- Proficiency in CAD software for system schematics and layout planning.
- Strong mechanical knowledge combined with practical skills in using hand tools and power tools.
- Familiarity with schematics interpretation and electrical wiring diagrams.
- Electrical experience is essential; construction experience is highly desirable.
- Knowledge of relevant safety standards, codes, and regulations governing fire alarm systems.
- Ability to work independently or as part of a team in diverse environments.
- Good organisational skills with attention to detail; excellent problem-solving abilities are essential.
