· To provide care in accordance with best practice and legislative requirements, reflecting policies and procedures and agreed standards under the direction of the Senior Carer/Nurse
· To support and enable individuals to maintain skills and personal interests whilst delivering person-centred care unique to each individual on the day and night shifts at St Brelades
To maintain skills at a current level and undertake such training and development as required, from time to time, to maintain and progress knowledge
The Carer’s responsibilities include but are not limited to the following:
· Ensure residents are at the heart of care delivery and that their wishes and preferences enhance their wellbeing
· To contribute to the efficient running of the service
· Support individuals to maintain their relationships and connections with the local community
· Ensure personal plans and other information about how to support the residents are followed
· Be responsible for informing the Senior Carer/Nurse of any changes in the needs of residents
Be responsible for promoting and protecting the welfare of those individuals supported by the service
Ensure we are supporting the residents to live their best lives in and out of the home
· Develop effective working relationships with other employees within the service
· Work in cooperation with members of the multidisciplinary teams to maximise opportunities for individuals
· If desired by the individual, maintain and develop relationships with family, friends and other people important in their life

· Seek opportunities for personal and professional growth
· Be a role model for other carers and be an ambassador for the service
· Be professional, polite and reasonable at all times
Ensure that the residents home is kept clean and tidy at all times and that this is their home is paramount and respected .
Pay: £14.05 per hour
