Job Overview
We are seeking a dedicated Kitchen Assistant / Dishwasher to join our dynamic culinary team. This role is essential in maintaining a clean and efficient kitchen environment, supporting food preparation, and ensuring the smooth operation of our establishment. The successful candidate will work in a fast-paced setting, contributing to the overall dining experience by upholding high standards of cleanliness and organisation. Previous experience in hospitality or restaurant environments is advantageous but not mandatory, as training will be provided.
Duties
- Responsible for washing, cleaning, and sanitising dishes, utensils, pots, and pans to maintain hygiene standards.
- Assist with basic food preparation tasks under supervision, including peeling, chopping, and assembling ingredients.
- Support kitchen staff with organising supplies and ensuring all equipment is clean and functional.
- Maintain cleanliness of work surfaces, floors, and storage areas throughout shifts.
- Help with waste disposal and recycling procedures in accordance with health and safety regulations.
- Ensure all health and safety protocols are followed diligently during daily operations.
- Support the team during busy periods by assisting with serving or other hospitality duties as required.
Experience
- Previous experience in a restaurant, hotel, or catering environment is desirable but not essential; training will be provided for suitable candidates.
- Knowledge of food safety standards and hygiene practices is advantageous.
- Experience in food preparation or culinary roles can be beneficial for career development within the hospitality sector.
- A friendly attitude with excellent organisational skills and the ability to work efficiently under pressure.
- Willingness to learn new skills related to kitchen operations and food service.
