Overview
We are seeking a skilled and motivated Painter/Product Finisher . The ideal candidate will possess strong technical expertise, a keen eye for detail to ensure high-quality finishes on products.
Job Purpose
Application of industrial coatings, blasting, cleaning to ensure the highest standard of finish for a range of surfaces, components or modules within the energy, water, and process and chemical business sectors.
To coach, mentor, train and develop an effective product finisher team
Responsibilities
· Power wash components to remove contamination as required.
· Protect machine surfaces and mask any areas not requiring surface preparation and protection.
· Shotblast surfaces to required profile.
· Apply stripe coating to areas where access by spraying is difficult, this is to be undertaken for each coat.
· Spray or brush apply the required coating system as per the specified sales order procedure requirement.
· Check quality and thickness of coating application at all stages of coating process.
· Safe handling and movement of components and materials.
· Promote a safe and tidy working environment and always ensure that the coatings are applied safely and to correct standards.
· Work safely and adhere to SPP Pumps company policies and procedures.
· Read, understand and implement risk assessments and safe working practices.
· Follow the schedule communicated by the planning team and area manager.
· Work as part of a team to successfully achieve the aims and objectives of SPP pumps.
· Maintain tools and equipment, and PPE on a daily basis.
· Maintenance and control JIT / VMI paint stock.
· Demonstrate flexibility and approachability.
· Proactively seek additional tasks where time permits.
· Coach, train and develop an effective product finisher team.
· Co-ordinating with the engineering and quality teams to document and implement appropriate processes and procedures.
· Work with the BU Planners to agree schedule.
· Lead, participate, and contribute to projects designed to improve departmental and business performance.
· Support the EHS Manager to ensure the Health, Safety and well-being of all employees, and visitors accordingly.

Communication and Contacts
· Maintain effective communication through the provision of accurate and timely written and verbal communications internally and externally as required.
· Complete necessary process records, demonstrating adherence to procedures.
Ensure ongoing effective communication within the department and across all other functional departments.
Qualifications and Experience
Essential
· Previous work experience blasting, spraying, and hand painting.
Desirable
·· ICAT certification.
· Forklift licence.
· Train the paint certification.
· Coating inspection.
