We are seeking motivated and enthusiastic Functional Skills Math’s and/or English Tutors to join our Adult and Community Education team, supporting adult learners to develop their skills, confidence and qualifications.
You will deliver high-quality Functional Skills Math’s and/or English teaching through a flexible combination of online and face-to-face learning. Delivery will take place in community venues and other appropriate locations across Hampshire and the South Coast, supporting learners with a wide range of abilities, backgrounds and learning needs.
You will work closely with learners to identify their individual learning needs, build their confidence and support them to make progress towards their Functional Skills qualifications. Your role will be key in helping adults develop the English and Math’s skills they need for everyday life, further education, employment and progression.
We are looking for someone who is passionate about adult education and committed to helping learners achieve their potential. You will be an engaging, patient and supportive tutor who can create a positive learning environment and adapt your teaching to meet the needs of individual learners.
To succeed in this role, you will need experience of teaching Functional Skills Math’s and/or English, together with the ability to deliver engaging learning both online and face-to-face. You will be confident using a range of teaching approaches and digital learning tools, and able to motivate learners who may have previously lacked confidence in Math’s or English.
Salary: £28.97 p/h+ £3.50p/h holiday allowance

Teaching groups of adults at different levels, using a range of relevant methods and approaches to enable and support learning across Functional Skills English and/or Maths.
Delivering engaging and inclusive learning through a combination of face-to-face and online teaching, making effective use of digital platforms, technology and learning resources.
Motivating and supporting learners to achieve their potential and develop the confidence, skills and knowledge required for progression in education, training, employment and everyday life.
Preparing schemes of work, lesson plans and learning materials which meet the requirements of the relevant Functional Skills curriculum and qualifications.
Experience of teaching Functional Skills Math’s and/or English to adults.
A strong commitment to supporting adult learners and helping them achieve their goals.
The ability to engage and motivate learners with a wide range of abilities, backgrounds and learning needs.
Confidence in delivering effective teaching through both online and face-to-face methods.
Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to build positive relationships with learners.
The ability to adapt teaching approaches and resources to meet individual learner needs.
