Job Overview:
We are looking for a hardworking, reliable and organised Kitchen Porter / Kitchen Assistant to join our kitchen team.
The ideal candidate will support the chefs with daily kitchen operations, ensuring the kitchen runs smoothly while maintaining excellent standards of cleanliness, hygiene and organisation.
Responsibilities:
- Maintain high standards of cleanliness throughout the kitchen
- Wash dishes, kitchen equipment and utensils efficiently
- Keep food preparation areas clean and organised
- Assist chefs with basic food preparation tasks
- Prepare vegetables, salads and other ingredients as required
- Receive, check and store deliveries correctly
- Ensure fridges, storage areas and kitchen equipment are kept clean and organised
- Dispose of waste correctly and follow food safety procedures
- Support the kitchen team during busy service periods
- Follow health and safety and hygiene regulations
Requirements:
- Previous experience as a Kitchen Porter, Kitchen Assistant or similar role is preferred
- Good understanding of kitchen hygiene and cleanliness standards
- Ability to work in a busy restaurant environment
- Reliable, punctual and hardworking attitude
- Ability to work well as part of a team
- Willingness to learn and support different areas of the kitchen
- Basic English communication skills required
