We’re looking for a friendly, energised Retail Assistant to join our team. If you enjoy helping guests discover brilliant artisan products, local favourites, and seasonal treats, this could be the perfect role for you.
You’ll have an eye for presentation, a genuine interest in great food producers, and a natural ability to create uplifting guest moments. Experience in a similar environment is highly desirable, but just as important is your ability to stay organised, stay curious, and bring positivity to a lively fast-paced setting.
This role offers the chance to grow your product knowledge, build confidence in merchandising, and help create a welcoming, inspiring shopping experience for our guests every day.
What you’ll do
- Keep displays beautiful, well‑stocked, priced, and aligned to VM guidelines
- Build strong product knowledge and share it with guests
- Maintain a clean, tidy, and safe shopfloor, following daily checks
- Rotate stock effectively and support replenishment with the Goods In team
- Provide a warm, positive experience at the till, processing transactions accurately and packing goods with care
- Support stocktaking and back‑of‑house tasks
- Work collaboratively with the team and uphold excellent communication
- Carry out routine checks of washrooms and outdoor areas, including restocking hand towels, cleaning surfaces, and emptying bins to maintain high standards of cleanliness and presentation.
Experience
- Experience in a similar environment is highly desirable (training provided)
- A natural flair for great customer experiences
- Strong communication and people skills
- Ability to stay organised, manage multiple tasks, and work well in a busy environment
- A positive customer service approach
- Enthusiasm for great food and curiosity about our suppliers and products
- Able to remain calm, efficient and focused during busy periods, maintaining high standards under pressure
