As a Care Assistant, you will play an important role in supporting our residents with their daily lives while promoting independence, wellbeing and choice. You will work closely with colleagues, healthcare professionals and families to ensure each resident receives outstanding care tailored to their individual needs.
Key Responsibilities
- Provide compassionate, person-centred care in accordance with each resident’s care plan.
- Support residents with personal care, including washing, dressing, toileting and maintaining personal hygiene.
- Assist residents with mobility using appropriate moving and handling techniques and equipment.
- Support residents with eating, drinking and nutritional needs while encouraging independence.
- Build positive, meaningful relationships with residents, their families and visitors.
- Encourage participation in meaningful activities and promote emotional wellbeing.
- Monitor residents’ health and wellbeing, accurately recording observations and reporting any concerns promptly.
- Administer medication where appropriately trained and authorised.
- Maintain accurate, timely and confidential care records.
- Follow safeguarding procedures and report any concerns immediately.
- Maintain high standards of cleanliness, infection prevention and control throughout the home.
- Work collaboratively as part of the care team to provide consistent, high-quality care.
- Respect the privacy, dignity, beliefs and individual choices of every resident at all times.
What We’re Looking For
Essential
Level 2 NVQ
- Caring, compassionate and reliable nature.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.

Newhaven is a dual site care home and we have various positions available - including zero hour flexi bank shifts.
Pay: £12.71 per hour
