As an NSCM Assistant within Aldi's National Supply Chain Management team, you will play a key role in managing the accurate movement and control of stock through Aldi's third-party logistics network. You will be responsible for overseeing the Goods Receipt (GR), Goods Issue (GI), EDI and stock correction processes that support over £700m of annual stock throughput across multiple logistics hubs.
Working closely with third-party logistics providers and internal stakeholders, you will ensure stock is accurately recorded, available for sale and supported by robust inventory controls. This role is critical in protecting stock accuracy, supporting supplier payments, minimising stock loss and ensuring products are available in stores for launch.

- Manage day-to-day relationships with third-party logistics providers to ensure stock transactions are processed accurately and on time.
- Monitor and control Goods Receipt (GR) activities, ensuring inbound stock is correctly receipted through EDI and warehouse systems.
- Oversee Goods Issue (GI) processes, ensuring stock is accurately transferred through the supply chain and inventory records remain aligned.
- Investigate and resolve stock discrepancies, shortages, overages and EDI exceptions, taking corrective action where required.
- Complete and review stock adjustments, corrections and reversals while maintaining appropriate governance and audit controls.
- Monitor EDI performance and proactively identify transaction failures or processing issues that could impact stock accuracy or product availability.
- Analyse operational data and reporting to identify trends, root causes and improvement opportunities.
- Escalate operational risks and stock issues to internal and external stakeholders, driving timely resolution.
- Support continuous improvement initiatives to simplify processes, improve inventory accuracy and enhance supply chain controls.
- Support the successful delivery of key departmental priorities and peak trading periods, ensuring products are available for launch and stores remain supported.
About You
- Supply Chain / Logistics Experience.
- Proficient in Microsoft Office including Excel (e.g. pivots, Power Query) and AI tools to interpret and optimise logistics data from systems such as SAP TM, Transporeon, and freight forwarder platforms.
- Strong attention to detail and prioritisation skills.
- Change management & cost awareness.
- Strong written and verbal communication skills; comfortable leading conversations with hauliers and internal stakeholders.
- Able to juggle competing priorities, manage high volumes of unexpected issues, and stay focused on service outcomes.
- Curious and continuously improvement driven—focused on simplifying processes and delivering consistency.
- Comfortable investigating issues, analysing performance, and implementing practical improvements.
- Flexible and reliable in a fast-paced environment; can work independently and as part of a team.
Desirable:
- Managing, improving, and delivering change in 3PLs.
- Demonstrate ability to effectively manage external providers.
- Strong negotiation and commercial acumen.
- Demonstrate ability to identify and implement process improvements.
- Knowledge of Supply Chain systems (TMS/WMS/Portals etc).
- SAP experience Previous background within operational environments.

- Salary starting from £37,545 rising to £43,840
- Fixed Term Contract - 14 Months
- Monday to Friday, 8:00am to 4:00pm, with the opportunity of 2 days a week remote working.
