The Brewery Bar in Botley is looking for an enthusiastic, hands-on General Manager to lead our popular sports bar. This is an excellent opportunity for an experienced hospitality manager who enjoys working in a close-knit team and delivering a great customer experience.
Working closely with the owner-operator, you will oversee the day-to-day running of the business, leading a small team supported by two supervisors. This is a hands-on management role where you'll have the opportunity to influence the continued success of the venue.
Working Pattern
- Full-time, hourly paid position.
- 5-day working week.
- 3 split shifts and 2 straight shifts each week.
- Flexibility to work evenings, weekends, bank holidays, and major sporting events.
Key Responsibilities
- Manage the day-to-day operation of the venue.
- Lead, coach, and support a small team, including two supervisors.
- Work alongside the owner-operator to achieve business objectives.
- Recruit, train, and develop team members.
- Prepare staff rotas and manage labour costs.
- Oversee stock ordering, stock control, and cash handling.
- Deliver outstanding customer service and maintain high standards throughout the venue.
- Ensure compliance with licensing, health & safety, and food hygiene regulations.
- Help drive sales through promotions, live sport, and community engagement.
About You
- Previous management experience in a pub, bar, or hospitality venue.
- A hands-on leader who leads by example.
- Strong organisational and communication skills.
- Commercial awareness with experience managing costs and driving sales.
- Ability to motivate and develop a small team.
- Passion for hospitality and creating a welcoming atmosphere.
Start Date: September.
