Labourer / Yardsperson
Due to further expansion and investment in the business, we are looking for a keen and motivated individual to help out in and around the workshop, yard, and during site projects.
This would be a full time permanent position Mon-Fri 8am-4.30pm. There is some flexibility around this with the potential to condense these hours into a 4.5 or 4 day week.
The ideal candidate would have:
- Experience and/or certification in operating counter-balance folklifts
- Ability to carry out general assembly work - i.e. positioning and bolting parts together.
- Experience using hand tools and workshop tools.
- Excellent timekeeping
- Great attitude to work and be proactive in their duties
- Working on their own initiative
- Clean and tidy work ethic
- Experience with painting and finishing
- Health and safety conscientious
It would be a bonus if the candidate had experience with:
- Using other mobile platforms/machinery e.g. Scissor Lift, Telehandler etc.
- Experience using overhead crane rails/ lifting/slinging duties
- Previous experience in a fabrication/manufacturing environment.
Duties will include:
- Loading and offloading lorries
- Assisting the Stores Person by ensuring incoming materials are logged in and put away properly
- Delivering and collecting from customers and suppliers using a fleet of vehicles.
- General housekeeping – scrap skips, waste material, maintaining order of the yard and workshop. Ensuring company vehicle and FLT/MEWP fleet is kept clean, tidy and maintained.
- General maintenance incl. basic DIY type tasks – cleaning gutters, painting, housekeeping of the fabrication workshops and machine shop etc.
- Weekly vehicle checks / data recording
- Helping out on site / in workshop where required - i.e. assembling machinery, using band saws, assisting site teams in general install/maintenance tasks.
- Assisting the fabrication chargehands with tasks in the workshop.
Due to insurance purposes this role is only open to persons aged 25 and over.
