What You’ll Be Doing
As Sous Chef, you will play a key leadership role within the kitchen, supporting the Head Chef in delivering high standards, consistency, and profitability across all food operations. Your responsibilities will include:
- Supporting and deputising for the Head Chef in the day-to-day management of the kitchen
- Leading and motivating the kitchen team during service to ensure consistently high-quality food
- Assisting with menu development, seasonal changes, and promotional ideas
- Ensuring all dishes are prepared and presented to brand and company standards
- Supporting stock control, ordering, and minimising wastage
- Assisting with food cost management and maintaining gross profit margins
- Ensuring compliance with food safety, health & safety, and hygiene legislation
- Supervising and mentoring junior chefs, supporting their training and development
- Working closely with the restaurant and events teams to ensure smooth and efficient service
- Maintaining high standards of cleanliness and organisation at all times
What We’re Looking For
To succeed in this role, you will bring:
- Proven experience as a Sous Chef or strong Chef de Partie ready to step up within a hotel or high-volume hospitality environment
- Strong leadership skills with the ability to lead by example and inspire the team
- Good commercial awareness, including stock management and cost control
- A thorough understanding of food safety and compliance standards
- A hands-on, organised, and proactive approach
- Flexibility to work across busy weddings, events, conferences, and restaurant service
- A genuine passion for quality food and delivering outstanding guest experiences
