Job Opportunity
We’ve won some exciting new clients and are growing as a company. That’s why we’re looking for a conscientious Cable Management Technician/Driver committed to managing our ever-growing cable, adaptor and power department within our Chessington warehouse. You will be responsible for ensuring we prep the equipment within this area to a very high standard to support our onsite technical personnel.
As a Cable Management Technician/Driver you’ll also be expected to drive our company vehicles in order to deliver and collect equipment to/from site as required.
Responsibilities
- Maintain the cable department equipment to the highest standards
- You will be responsible for inspecting, testing and repairing equipment as necessary.
- Ensure cables and power distro are prepped in a timely fashion.
- To check all equipment in/out of the warehouse
- Organise all cables, connectors and consumables so they can be easily located
- Conduct periodic stock takes.
- Complete annual PAT testing
- Ensure any missing cables and adaptors are flagged
- Assist with the loading and unloading of vans and trucks.
- Advise account managers and technical staff on adaptor, power and cable capabilities
- Research the latest event cable, adaptor and power technology and advise procurement on recommended purchases
- Perform ad hoc driving duties, delivering and collecting equipment to/from venues as required
What we’re looking for
You should have/be:
- A professional, positive and helpful attitude at all times with seniors, colleagues and team members
- Proven experience of prepping AV kit in a warehouse setting
- Exceptional planning and time management skills
- Good knowledge of Health and Safety legislation
- First class interpersonal skills
- Excellent teamwork skills and the ability to communicate effectively with a variety of stakeholders
- Naturally pro-active instincts, with a hunger for inspiring change and operational improvement
- Clean, full driving licence
- Excellent all round end-user IT skills

The business mainly provides services to trade exhibitions which generally take place on weekdays, although some weekend working will be required, and there is a high degree of flexibility regarding working hours, as well as an understanding that this is not a 9-5 job.
In terms of work location, the nature of this role requires a high degree of collaboration with members of our warehouse team so it will be performed solely from our Chessington HQ
