We are opening a new children's home in Farnham and are looking for dedicated, resilient, and passionate Senior Support Workers to join our team in our new children's home.
The Role
As a Senior Support Worker, you will be a role model for both the young people and the team for the new home. You will work closely with the Manager and Deputy Manager to ensure the highest standards of care are met, leading shifts and guiding a team of Support Workers to create a warm, supportive family-like environment.
Key Responsibilities:
· Shift Leading: Lead shifts effectively, ensuring daily routines are maintained, care plans are followed, and resources are managed well.
· Direct Care: Provide therapeutic, child-centred care, supporting young people with daily life, education, hobbies, and emotional well-being.
· Mentorship: Guide, support, and mentor Support Workers, sharing best practices and helping them develop.
· Safeguarding: Act as a champion for the safety and welfare of the children, strictly adhering to safeguarding policies and Ofsted regulations.
· Administration: Maintain accurate, professional records, including daily logs, care plan updates, and incident reports.
What We Are Looking For
We need someone who understands that progress takes time and that challenges are just steps along the way. You should bring a mix of empathy, boundaries, and a sense of fun to the house.
Essential Criteria:
· Qualification: Level 3 Diploma in Residential Childcare (or equivalent/higher).
· Experience: Minimum of 1 year experience working within a children’s residential care setting.
· Skills: Strong understanding of Ofsted regulations, safeguarding procedures, and therapeutic care approaches.
· Flexibility: Ability to work a flexible rota, including long days, weekends, and sleep-in shifts.
· Driving Licence: A full UK driving licence is essential for this role (to take young people to appointments and activities).
Shift Patterns
Early: 7:30am–3:00pm
Late: 2:00pm–11:00pm
Long Day: 7:30am–11:00pm
Sleep-in shifts (minimum once a week): 11:00pm–7:30am paid at a flat rate of £50 per night
