We're looking for a warm, compassionate and enthusiastic Female Support Worker to join a dedicated care team supporting a remarkable young woman in St Austell. This is a truly rewarding opportunity to make a meaningful difference, helping her live life on her own terms while supporting her independence, rehabilitation and active lifestyle.
Our client is a 22-year-old woman who is tetraplegic and autistic. Following life-changing injuries, she has worked incredibly hard throughout her recovery and rehabilitation, and her determination continues to inspire everyone around her. She has a fantastic sense of humour, knows exactly how she likes things done, and enjoys a busy, fulfilling life that she wants to continue living to the fullest with the support of the right team.
She loves spending time outdoors, particularly dog walking along the beautiful Cornish coast, hand cycling and taking part in adapted CrossFit. She also enjoys trips to the beautician, shopping, meeting friends and all the everyday activities any young woman should be able to enjoy. Alongside this, she remains committed to her ongoing rehabilitation and recovery, and you'll play an important role in supporting her to achieve her personal goals.
Our client communicates verbally and, like many autistic people, has her own unique communication style and preferences. You'll receive full training and support to understand how she communicates best, enabling you to build a positive, trusting relationship from day one.
We're looking for someone who is kind, patient and reliable, with a genuine passion for promoting independence and empowering others. You'll be someone who enjoys getting out and about, embraces new experiences and is committed to providing person-centred support that helps our client continue living the life she chooses.
Previous care experience is welcomed but isn't essential, as we provide comprehensive training and ongoing support. What matters most is your compassion, commitment and positive attitude.
A full UK driving licence is essential, as you'll be required to drive our client's adapted vehicle.
