Working Hours and Arrangements
The position is a mixture of home and office based work for 21 hours per week, the usual days for office attendance being a Monday and Friday. However, some flexibility in order to attend Trustee meetings on other days may be necessary.
Job Purpose
Reporting to the Trusts and Foundations Manager, the principal purpose of the role is to assist in the delivery of management and administration services to charities, trusts and foundations. By working collaboratively with the Trusts and Foundations Manager, other colleagues within the Church & Charity department and our clients, the post-holder will provide grant making support to clients that is of a high standard, ensures the department works effectively and promotes a professional image of the Firm at all times.
The Grants Administrator supports the full cycle of grant giving activities, such as helping with the reviewing of funding applications, liaising with applicants and grantees and assisting with the preparation of Trustees meetings.
The role requires someone with strong administration skills who can learn quickly and become familiar with Charity Commission rules, regulations and guidelines, trustee/ client liaison, grant application processes, database management and reporting.
Job Description
- Support the Trusts and Foundations Manager with clerical administration.
- Assist with the preparation of documents to facilitate trustee meetings.
- To support processing the application outcome including: rejection letters, grants offers, due diligence and corresponding with applicants.
- Support and attend trustee meetings, including preparatory work and minute taking.
- Assist with website administration and online application forms.
- Provide general administration and support to the Church & Charities department.
- Carry out any other duties as reasonably requested by the Partners, Trusts and Foundations Manager, other Fee Earners, Practice Manager, Finance Manager or other colleagues, as may reasonably be expected within the scope of the role.
- To operate within a workflow and keep track of tasks.
- Perform office administration duties which include handling and scanning post, practical support to the management team and general office duties.

Essential
Qualifications
- 3 ‘A’ Levels or equivalent at C grade or above
- Business related degree (2:2 or above) desirable
