In this vital role, you will develop and implement a variety of recreational activities tailored to the interests and needs of seniors, including those with dementia or Alzheimer’s disease. Responsibilities
- Plan, organize, and facilitate engaging activities that promote social interaction, mental stimulation, and physical well-being for residents.
- Assess individual resident preferences and abilities to create personalized activity plans that enhance quality of life.
- Collaborate with care staff to ensure activities align with residents’ care plans, especially for those with dementia or Alzheimer’s.
- Maintain a safe environment during activities, ensuring all participants’ safety and comfort.
- Document participation and observe residents’ responses to tailor future activities effectively.
- Coordinate special events, outings, and themed programs that encourage community involvement.
- Communicate regularly with residents’ families and team members about activity participation and resident engagement levels.
Skills
- Proven experience in assisted living or nursing home settings, with a strong understanding of senior care needs.
- Knowledge of dementia care strategies and Alzheimer’s care best practices.
- Excellent communication skills to connect effectively with seniors, families, and team members.
- Creativity in designing diverse activities that cater to varying interests and cognitive abilities.
- Ability to motivate residents and foster an inclusive, positive atmosphere.
- Strong organizational skills to manage multiple activities simultaneously while maintaining attention to detail.

Pay: £12.85 per hour
