UK Defence Services Ltd is a leading provider of professional security solutions across the UK. As we continue to expand our operations, we are seeking a highly driven and experienced Senior Business Development Manager to lead our growth strategy and secure long-term contracts within both public and private sectors.
This is a key role for someone with proven success in developing business within the security industry or similar service-based environments. You will be responsible for identifying new opportunities, securing national contracts, and managing high-value client relationships to support our mission of delivering reliable, responsive, and professional security services across the country.
Key Responsibilities
- Lead the development and execution of strategic business development plans across the UK.
- Identify and pursue new business opportunities in sectors such as corporate, construction, logistics, events, retail, and public sector.
- Promote and position our full range of manned guarding, mobile patrols, keyholding, and alarm response services to prospective clients.
- Build and maintain strong relationships with decision-makers, procurement teams, and stakeholders.
- Prepare and deliver high-quality sales presentations, tenders, and proposals that reflect client needs and company capabilities.
- Negotiate profitable contracts in line with company policies and commercial goals.
- Collaborate with the operations, HR, and compliance teams to ensure smooth mobilisation of new contracts.
- Maintain accurate records of sales activity, pipeline status, and performance metrics using CRM software (e.g., Salesforce).
- Monitor market trends, competitors, and industry regulations to identify strategic opportunities and risks.
Qualifications and Experience
- Minimum 5 years’ experience in business development or sales within the security, facilities management, or contract services industries.
- Strong understanding of UK security services, including manned guarding and mobile response operations.
- Proven track record of winning and managing large contracts, ideally on a national scale.
- Proficiency in CRM systems (preferably Salesforce) and strong computer literacy (Word, Excel, PowerPoint).
- Excellent communication, negotiation, and interpersonal skills, with the ability to build trust at all levels.
- Ability to work independently, prioritise workload, and deliver against targets under minimal supervision.
- A degree in Business, Marketing, or related field is desirable but not essential.
- A valid UK driving licence and willingness to travel across the UK as required.
