Maintenance Gardener
The Gardenists specialises in the design and build of luxury residential Gardens and Landscape projects in the super prime residential market.
We need a Maintenance Gardener to keep in top condition the gardens that we have created for our clients.
Operating from our office in Pimlico SW1, this role will predominantly be based on client sites and projects in inner London, although there will be some sites in outer London and the Home Counties.
A Maintenance Gardener should be proficient in the following tasks:
- Pruning, Weeding, Feeding, Seasonal Planting
- Pest and Disease identification and treatment
- Monitor plant health and soil condition, and carry out maintenance and remedial work
- Use and maintain gardening tools and machinery safely and efficiently
- Report and design issues, plant failures, or improvement suggestions to the horticulture or management team
- Ensure all works are conducted safely and respectfully on private residential properties
- Work collaboratively and professionally with team members and clients
- Upload site images and notes to out internal systems, as part of ongoing maintenance and reporting
Requirements:
- Minimum 2 years' experience in garden maintenance (private gardens and estates preferred), or relevant experience gained as part of a vocational course
- Good plant knowledge and strong horticultural skills. Strong candidates will hold the RHS Level 2 or equivalent
- Communicates clearly with colleagues, site managers, and clients, and helps maintain a tidy, professional worksite at all times.
- (Desirable) Irrigation Systems: Knowledge of automated irrigation systems, with an understanding of zones, water pressure, and sustainable practices
- Planting and Turfing: Skilled in soil preparation, planting trees, shrubs, and herbaceous plants according to design specifications for instant and lasting impact.
- Demonstrates a meticulous eye for detail and pride in delivering gardens that meet the highest standards of quality and finish.
- Works efficiently, safely, and respectfully on high-value private and commercial sites.
- Communicates clearly with colleagues, site managers, and clients, and helps maintain a tidy, professional worksite at all times.
- Physically fit and prepared to work in any weather
- PA1 and PA6 Pesticides certificates are highly desirable
- Takes responsibility for the safe use and care of all tools, machinery, and materials.
- Driving licence advantageous (as is a willingness to drive company vehicles, including vans)

Pay: £30,000.00-£35,000.00 per year
