Job Summary
We are seeking a dedicated and skilled Kitchen Cook to join our culinary team. The ideal candidate will be responsible for preparing and cooking a variety of dishes, ensuring high standards of food quality and safety. Responsibilities
- Prepare ingredients and cook meals according to specified recipes and standards.
- Ensure all food is prepared in accordance with food safety regulations and hygiene standards.
- Assist in menu planning and develop new recipes in collaboration with the culinary team.
- Maintain cleanliness and organisation of the kitchen, including washing dishes, sanitising surfaces, and disposing of waste appropriately.
- Monitor stock levels and communicate needs for replenishment to management.
- Operate kitchen equipment safely and efficiently, including ovens, stoves, and food processors.
- Collaborate with serving staff to ensure timely delivery of meals to customers.
- Follow health and safety procedures at all times to prevent accidents or contamination.
Requirements
- Proven experience in food preparation, cooking, or a similar role within a restaurant or catering environment.
- Knowledge of food safety standards and hygiene practices.
- Ability to work efficiently under pressure during busy periods.
- Strong organisational skills with attention to detail in meal presentation and quality control.
- Good communication skills and ability to work as part of a team.
- Culinary experience or formal training in hospitality or catering is preferred but not essential.
- Flexibility to work varied shifts, including weekends if required.
