Materials Planner | Bristol | Full Time (36.25 hours) | Salary £36,000 - £42,000
As a Materials Planner, you'll be at the heart of our supply chain, ensuring the right materials are in the right place at the right time to support world-class manufacturing and deliver for our customers. Working in a fast-paced, collaborative environment, use data to drive informed decisions, and contribute to the continuous improvement of our planning processes. The Materials Planner is responsible for ensuring the timely availability of materials required for production, in alignment with customer demand and production schedules. This role plays a key part in managing inventory levels, mitigating supply risks, and maintaining effective supplier relationships to support operational efficiency. Key Accountabilities:
- Raise purchase orders in accordance with planning requirements.
- Confirm delivery dates and quantities with suppliers and update system accordingly
- Manage delivery schedule and bookings to ensure even flow of materials into site
- Ensure material availability aligns with the latest production schedules and call-off requirements
- Identify and escalate potential material shortages or delays that may impact production timelines.
- Track and manage inventory levels to agreed targets
- Maintain accurate data within the Materials Requirements Planning (MRP) system
- Monitor MRP outputs to ensure compliance with agreed Minimum Order Quantities (MOQs) and Multiple order quantities
- Manage run outs of components to minimise material obsolescence
- Respond to queries from customers, suppliers and internal stakeholders in a timely and professional manner.
- Develop and maintain strong relationships with suppliers through regular communication and performance reviews.
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams to manage material volumes and dry goods requirements.
- Participate in continuous improvement initiatives to enhance planning processes and supply chain performance.
