Job Summary
We are seeking a dedicated and enthusiastic Shift Leader to oversee daily operations and ensure a positive environment for both staff and children. The ideal candidate will possess strong management and leadership skills, with a passion for early childhood education. This role requires effective communication and the ability to foster a nurturing atmosphere while maintaining high standards of care.
Duties
- Supervise and support staff during shifts, ensuring all team members are performing their duties effectively.
- Plan and implement engaging activities for children, promoting their development and learning.
- Maintain a safe, clean, and welcoming environment for children and staff.
- Communicate effectively with parents regarding their children's progress and any concerns that may arise.
- Assist in training new staff members, providing guidance on best practices in childcare.
- Ensure compliance with all health and safety regulations as well as organisational policies.
- Handle administrative tasks related to the nursery's operations as required.
Skills
- Proven management and leadership abilities, with experience in supervising teams.
- Previous experience working with children in a childcare or nursery setting is essential.
- Knowledge of early childhood education principles and practices.
- Excellent communication skills in English, both verbal and written.
- Strong interpersonal skills to build relationships with children, parents, and colleagues.
- A valid driving licence is preferred to facilitate transportation needs related to the role.
