Job Description – Door Supervisor (Hospitality Event)
Job Title: Door Supervisor (SIA Licensed)

Rate of Pay: £16.00 per hour
Reporting To: Duty Manager / Event Management Team
Working Days and Hours
- Shift: Every Saturday
- Hours: 2:00pm – 6:30pm
- Start Date: Saturday 18 July 2026
- Duration: The assignment is expected to continue every Saturday until approximately mid to late September 2026, subject to operational requirements.
Officers are expected to arrive at least 15 minutes before the commencement of the shift, fully dressed and ready to begin duties promptly at 2:00pm.
Role Purpose
To provide a professional, welcoming and highly visible security presence that enhances the customer experience while ensuring the safety of guests, visitors and staff.
This is a hospitality-focused role where customer service, communication and professionalism are equally as important as security. The emphasis is on reassurance, prevention and de-escalation rather than enforcement.
Dress Code
All officers must present themselves to the highest professional standard.
- Black suit jacket or smart black trousers
- White shirt
- Black tie
- Smart polished black shoes
- SIA Door Supervisor Licence displayed on a lanyard at all times
- Excellent personal presentation and hygiene
Key DutiesEntrance Officer
Responsibilities include:
- Welcoming guests and visitors in a friendly and professional manner.
- Prioritising authorised guests entering the venue.
- Working alongside the Duty Manager to monitor venue capacity.
- Managing entry if instructed when capacity has been reached.
- Providing information and assistance where appropriate.
- Maintaining a calm, welcoming atmosphere at all times.
Patrol Officer
Responsibilities include:
- Maintaining a highly visible security presence throughout the venue and surrounding public areas.
- Providing reassurance to guests.
- Preventing anti-social behaviour through engagement and early intervention.
- Identifying welfare concerns and providing assistance where appropriate.
- Liaising regularly with the Duty Manager.
- Supporting colleagues whenever required.
Capacity Management
Working alongside venue management, officers will:
- Assist with monitoring venue capacity.
- Follow management instructions regarding admissions.
- Continuously monitor guest numbers.
- Report any concerns immediately to the Duty Manager.
Customer Service Expectations
Officers are expected to:
- Be approachable, courteous and professional at all times.
- Greet guests in a friendly manner.
- Offer assistance where required.
- Communicate clearly and respectfully.
- Exercise good judgement and common sense.
- Resolve issues through communication before enforcement wherever possible.
Conflict Management
This is a low-risk, hospitality-focused deployment.
Officers should:
- Use communication and conflict management skills as the first response.
- De-escalate situations calmly and professionally.
- Avoid confrontation wherever possible.
- Request management support where appropriate.
- Contact emergency services where necessary.
Venue Support
Officers will assist management by:
- Monitoring guest behaviour.
- Encouraging responsible conduct.
- Supporting the venue’s operating procedures.
- Reporting any concerns immediately to management.
Communication
Maintain regular communication with:
- Duty Manager
- Venue Management
- Fellow Door Supervisor
Immediately report:
- Incidents
- Medical emergencies
- Disorder
- Capacity concerns
- Welfare issues
Professional Standards
All officers must:
- Remain alert and proactive throughout the shift.
- Avoid unnecessary use of mobile phones whilst on duty.
- Refrain from eating or drinking in guest-facing areas unless authorised.
- Maintain confidentiality regarding venue operations.
- Treat every guest with courtesy, dignity and respect.
- Work closely with the venue management team and provide assistance whenever reasonably requested.
Person Specification
Applicants must:
- Hold a valid SIA Door Supervisor Licence.
- Have excellent customer service and communication skills.
- Be smart, professional and reliable.
- Be confident dealing with members of the public.
- Have experience within hospitality, licensed premises or event security (preferred).
- Be capable of remaining calm under pressure and using effective conflict management techniques.
Objective
The purpose of this role is not simply to provide security.
The successful candidate will help create a safe, welcoming and enjoyable environment through professionalism, excellent customer service and a visible security presence. Every interaction should reflect the high standards expected of ICS Security Solutions and contribute positively to the overall customer experience.
Pay: From £16.00 per hour
