Vehicle Paint Sprayer / Prepper
Location: Upper Heyford, Oxfordshire
Shift: Monday-Friday, 08:00-17:00 (40 hours per week)
Pay Rate: Up to £21.00 per hour
Contract: Full-Time - Temp to Perm / Permanent Opportunities Available
We are currently recruiting for an experienced Vehicle Paint Sprayer / Prepper to join a busy automotive bodyshop operation in Upper Heyford. This is a varied role within a modern workshop environment, combining both paint spraying and vehicle preparation duties across a range of vehicles.
The successful candidate will be confident carrying out all aspects of vehicle preparation and paint application to a high standard. This opportunity offers long-term prospects, with both Temp to Perm and Permanent opportunities available.
The Role:
As a Vehicle Paint Sprayer / Prepper, your responsibilities will include:
- Painting vehicles and panels to a high standard
- Completing full resprays and panel repairs, including bumpers, wings, doors, and bonnets
- Mixing and colour matching paints
- Preparing vehicles and panels for paint, including sanding, masking, and priming
- Ensuring vehicles are correctly masked and prepared prior to painting
- Undertaking final preparation work before paint application
- Carrying out daily checks and maintenance of spray booth equipment
- Inspecting completed work to ensure it meets quality standards
- Working efficiently to achieve productivity and quality targets
The Person:
- Previous experience working as a Vehicle Paint Sprayer, Prepper, or similar bodyshop role is essential
- Strong knowledge of vehicle paint application and preparation techniques
- Must have own air-fed mask and spray guns
- Excellent attention to detail and quality standards
- Ability to work under your own initiative as well as part of a team
- Comfortable working in a busy, fast-paced workshop environment
- Full UK Driving Licence with no more than 6 points for minor offences
