Electrical Engineering Manager
Location: Dungannon, Co. Tyrone
Salary: Up to £65,000 + 10–20% Annual Bonus
Hours: 41.5 hours per week
The Opportunity
Silverwood Recruitment is delighted to be partnering with a leading global engineering and manufacturing organisation to recruit an experienced Electrical Engineering Manager to join their growing team in Dungannon.
This is a fantastic opportunity for an experienced Electrical Engineer with strong leadership capabilities to take ownership of an established electrical engineering function, providing technical direction, developing the team and overseeing projects from initial design through to final production.
Working within a highly innovative engineering and manufacturing environment, you will play a key role in driving technical excellence, continuous improvement and the successful delivery of engineering projects to agreed quality, cost and timescale requirements.
The Role
As Electrical Engineering Manager, you will lead and develop the Electrical Engineering team while providing technical guidance and oversight across a range of projects.
Key Responsibilities
- Lead, develop and support the Electrical Engineering team.
- Oversee electrical engineering projects from initial design through to final production.
- Provide technical guidance and ensure projects are delivered within agreed timescales, budgets and quality standards.
- Develop and implement electrical engineering standards, processes and procedures.
- Drive continuous improvement initiatives within the engineering function.
- Mentor team members and promote a positive, collaborative and high-performing culture.
- Conduct regular 1-to-1 meetings, providing feedback and supporting individual development.
- Manage and optimise workflow and engineering team throughput.
- Undertake design reviews in line with project specifications, relevant legislation and global engineering standards.
- Ensure compliance with ISO 9001 quality management systems.
- Ensure adherence to company health and safety procedures.
- Work closely with other departments to ensure effective project delivery and production support.
About You
We are looking for an experienced electrical engineering professional who combines strong technical expertise with proven people-management and leadership skills.
Essential Criteria
- Degree or equivalent qualification in Electrical or Electronic Engineering.
- Minimum 3 years' demonstrable experience working within and providing guidance and oversight to an engineering team.
- Experience managing, mentoring or developing engineering personnel.
- Strong experience creating and checking 2D electrical schematics.
- Proficiency with industry-standard electrical design software such as AutoCAD, SolidWorks Electrical or EPLAN.
- Experience with PLC software programming for machine control.
- Working knowledge of drawing management systems such as Pulse, SolidWorks PDM or similar.
- Excellent communication and decision-making skills.
- Strong organisational skills with a methodical and logical approach.
