SKILLED GROUNDWORKER – Pipe layer
ROLE OVERVIEW
We are seeking experienced Skilled Groundworkers specialising in pipe laying for ongoing works on our Sittingbourne site. The role will involve installing drainage systems, laying pipes, and carrying out road formation works, ensuring all tasks are completed to a high standard of safety, quality, and productivity.
KEY RESPONSIBILITIES
Carrying out pipe laying and installation of drainage systems in line with site specifications
Installing, aligning, and connecting pipework to required standards
Completing repairs and associated groundwork related to pipelaying activities
Undertaking remedial works and making good following excavation and utility works
Working safely around excavations and live services in accordance with site procedures
Supporting plant operators and site teams to maintain safe and efficient working practices
Using hand tools and small plant safely and effectively
Following drawings, instructions, and site specifications
Maintaining a clean, safe, and organised work area at all times
Adhering to all health & safety procedures and reporting hazards promptly
REQUIREMENTS
Proven experience in pipe laying and drainage installation
Valid CSCS Card
Strong awareness of site health & safety procedures
Experience working around excavations and underground services
Reliable, punctual, and able to work as part of a site team
Right to work in the UK
DESIRABLE
Confined Space certification (preferred)
Experience working within deep excavations and trench environments for pipelaying
Understanding of safe access, egress, and ventilation in pipelaying operations
Safety Critical Medical (site dependent)
