Our nationally recognised Catastrophic Loss team at DWF (one of the largest in the UK) are currently recruiting for an ambitious NQ - 5 year post qualified Solicitor or Associate to join their team in Manchester.
The team represent a wide range of leading insurers, including many household names, specialising in complex, high value cases. These cases include Catastrophic Loss, Personal Injury, Serious Injury, Road Traffic Accidents (RTAs), Employers’ Liability (EL), and Public Liability (PL) matters, with claim values ranging from £150,000 to £20 million.
This is an exciting opportunity to join a high-performing team handling some of the most challenging and rewarding cases in the industry with opportunities for progression.
The role is hybrid and we would expect the successful individual to attend the Manchester office a minimum of 2 days per week.

To handle a multi-track Catastrophic Loss and/or Personal Injury caseload, in addition to assisting senior team members on high value complex cases.

Advising clients, including insurers and corporate clients, on liability, quantum, and litigation strategy.

Drafting documents, preparing for court, and engaging in settlement negotiations.

Developing and maintaining strong client relationships through excellent service delivery.

Staying updated on legal developments in catastrophic injury and insurance law.
What will help you succeed in this role? :
Essential:
- 1+ PQE, preferable within defender litigation and Motor, Road Traffic Accidents (RTAs), Employers’ Liability (EL), and Public Liability (PL) case experience, with values over £1m+.

We will also consider NQ's that have previous relevant experience in one or more of these area's.

Technically experienced in and/or a real interest in Catastrophic Injury, Motor, Road Traffic Accidents (RTAs), Employers’ Liability (EL), and Public Liability (PL) work.

Ideally experienced handling high value defendant files either in your own right, or as an assistant to more senior team members. We will also consider those with Claimant experience.

Familiar with working in a commercial environment
