Job Summary
We are looking for enthusiastic and reliable tutors to deliver high-quality teaching in Maths, English and Science. Applications are welcomed from tutors who can teach one or more of these subjects; applicants are not required to teach all three.
The successful candidates will support learners to improve their subject knowledge, confidence and academic performance. Teaching may include small-group sessions and individual support, depending on learners’ needs.
Responsibilities
- Deliver tailored tutoring sessions in Maths, English, and Science to students of varying ages and skill levels
- Assess each student’s strengths and areas for improvement to develop customized lesson plans
- Use effective teaching methods to explain complex concepts clearly and engagingly
- Foster a supportive environment that encourages questions, critical thinking, and active participation
- Track student progress regularly and adjust instructional strategies accordingly
- Communicate effectively with students, parents, and colleagues to ensure alignment on learning goals
- Maintain organized records of tutoring sessions, student achievements, and feedback
Requirements
- Proven experience in tutoring or teaching in Maths, English, or Science
- Strong communication skills with the ability to connect with students of diverse backgrounds
- Experience working with children or young learners is highly desirable
- Knowledge of special education needs and inclusive teaching strategies is a plus
- Passion for education and helping students succeed academically
- Ability to create engaging lesson plans that cater to individual learning styles
- Reliable, patient, energetic, and motivated to foster a positive learning environment
- Applicants must hold a current Enhanced DBS certificate for working with children, preferably registered with the DBS Update Service, or be willing to complete a new Enhanced DBS check before commencing employment.
