Job Overview:
With the retirement of our Senior Shepherd and a restructure of our team, we are now looking for a Junior Arable & Forage Operator. on a 3500+ acre farming estate in the Pewsey Vale, we consist of a large robotic dairy herd, AD plant, Cereals, Forage production for both the Dairy & AD, then a 1600+ breeding ewe sheep flock and all dairy followers.
Duties:
- Perform crop to crop operations on a variety of crops
- Operate advanced machinery in line with the seasonal tasks
- Assisting in all areas of the farm as the seasons dictate (inc relief feeding on the dairy).
- Repair and maintain equipment as needed
- Utilize mechanical knowledge to troubleshoot and resolve issues
- Recording keeping of crop applications inline with Farm protocols and Assurance
Requirements:
- Previous experience in a similar role essential with Agricultural qualifications
-PA1 & PA2 plus telehandler certificates as a minimum
- Ability to lift heavy objects and perform physically demanding tasks
- Knowledge of Arable&Forage maintenance techniques and animal care practices
- Basic mechanical knowledge for equipment repair
- Ability to work independently with minimal supervision and most importantly as a team
- Strong attention to detail and problem-solving skills
