Make good work impossible to scroll past.
We're looking for a talented Social Media & Content Editor to join Big Day Productions and help shape how real wedding stories show up in the world.
Big Day Productions is one of the UK's leading wedding photography, film and content creation companies. We've captured more than 6,000 weddings across the UK, giving us an enormous library of real moments and stories waiting to be brought to life.
Your job is to find them, shape them and turn them into content people actually want to watch.
This is a hands-on creative role for someone who loves making content, not just talking about making it.
The role
You'll work closely with our Brand Storyteller and wider team to turn wedding footage, original content and ideas into a consistent stream of engaging short-form content across Instagram, TikTok and our other social channels.
You'll edit, plan and publish content, keep up with what's happening across social media and the wedding industry, and find creative ways to make relevant trends work for BDP.
You'll also be part of the content yourself. While editing is at the heart of the role, you'll need to be happy and confident appearing on camera in BDP team and social content when needed.
You won't be expected to be the main face of BDP, but you do need to be comfortable getting involved rather than always staying behind the camera.
We also use technology, AI and automation to help us create and distribute content at scale. You'll be the human eye across that output, quality checking what's being produced, making adjustments where needed and making sure what goes out always feels like us.
What you'll be doing
- Editing engaging Reels, TikToks and social-first video from our wedding footage
- Finding great moments within our archive and turning them into fresh content
- Planning, writing, scheduling and publishing content across our social channels
- Creating short-form social Reels for couples from their professionally produced wedding films
- Appearing on camera in BDP team and social content when needed
- Getting involved in creating original social content alongside our Brand Storyteller and wider team
- Staying on top of social trends, formats and sounds, as well as what's happening across the wider wedding industry
- Spotting relevant trends and finding ways to make them work for BDP rather than simply copying them
- Quality checking content produced through our wider AI, automation and content workflows
- Making creative adjustments where needed before content is published
- Managing comments and community engagement
- Reviewing what's performing and using what we learn to make future content better
- Working closely with our Brand Storyteller and wider team on ideas, campaigns and new content
Creating content for our couples
Not everything you create will be marketing.
Some of our couples have social Reels included within their wedding package. You'll take their professionally produced wedding films and turn them into shorter, beautifully edited pieces of content they'll be excited to share themselves.
These are real client deliverables, so creativity, attention to detail and reliability matter.
Sometimes, those same moments also become brilliant content for BDP.
What we're looking for
First and foremost, you need to be a genuinely strong short-form editor, with a portfolio or showreel to prove it.
You understand hooks, rhythm, pacing, music and what makes people keep watching.
We're also looking for someone who:
- Is happy and confident appearing on camera and getting involved in BDP social content
- Takes ownership, spots opportunities to make things better and enjoys seeing ideas through
- Has strong creative judgement and excellent attention to detail
- Naturally keeps up with social media, creative trends and the wider wedding world
- Takes feedback well and isn't precious about changing an edit or trying another approach
- Enjoys experimenting with new ideas, tools and technology
- Is organised, dependable and able to manage multiple pieces of work
- Brings ideas to the team without needing every idea to be theirs
- Is collaborative, positive and good to work with
- Is confident using professional video editing software and comfortable learning new tools and workflows
- Can work from our Holytown office Tuesday to Thursday each week
You don't need to be obsessed with weddings.
Great creative judgement, curiosity and an understanding of people and storytelling matter much more.
We're looking for someone who likes making things, not just talking about making them.
What you'll get
- £30,000–£34,000 FTE, depending on experience
- £18,000–£20,400 actual annual salary for three days per week
- Permanent, part-time position
- 24 hours per week, Tuesday to Thursday
- An extra day off for your birthday
- Free on-site parking
- Casual dress
- Coffee on tap
- Real creative ownership from day one
- The opportunity to work closely with our Brand Storyteller and wider creative team
- Access to a huge library of professionally captured content
- The opportunity for the role to develop into a full-time position as it grows
Location: 81 Main Street, Holytown
Working arrangement: Office-based
Start date: As soon as possible
