We are looking for a friendly, hardworking candidate with good customer service and communication skills.
You will mainly be delivering prescriptions to patients, as well as picking up prescriptions from surgeries, and will in many cases be the face of the pharmacy. A personable nature is therefore essential to ensure good communication between the pharmacy staff, our patients and the surgeries.
Ideally, we are looking for someone who has had some delivery experience or is familiar with the areas of Lobley Hill, Whickham, Sunniside, Dunston and Bensham.
The role is 10 core hours per week, with regular overtime to meet the delivery needs of the pharmacy. You will be working opposite another driver on a rota covering mornings and afternoons, so flexibility is needed — the volume of deliveries varies from day to day, and you will be expected to cover each other's holidays and time off.
You will be using a company delivery vehicle, which is supplied. Your responsibilities will include the basic upkeep of the vehicle — keeping it clean and roadworthy, and booking it in for services, tyres and so on. A full, clean UK driving licence is essential.
Our deliveries are recorded using electronic software, which the driver operates via a company mobile smartphone. Training will be given on its operation, but you will need to be comfortable using basic mobile technology.
