Wivenhoe Surgery has an exciting new opportunity for an enthusiastic and highly motivated receptionist to join the team based in practice. The role is offered on a part-time basis, for 16 hours a week worked over 5 days, with one Saturday morning every 8 weeks.
Responsibilities will include (but not limited to):
- booking appointments,
- greeting patients,
- answering queries from patients and outside agencies and/or signposting to appropriate members of staff,
- updating patient records,
- processing correspondence,
- liaising with patients using various different types of communication methods.

The role requires:
- excellent communication skills
- a good understanding of IT
- experience of providing customer services as part of a previous role, ideally in a busy reception/public environment
- a good standard of education including maths and English
- you to have flexibility to cover other shifts, to cover colleagues' annual leave or absence
- Experience of working in general practice will be an advantage but training will be given to a suitable candidate
- Experience of EMIS would be desirable, however full training will be given to a suitable candidate
- you to have a friendly and positive approach towards patients and other visitors, both in person or over the telephone
