Overview
We are seeking a motivated and experienced HGV Class 2 Driver tramper to join our dynamic logistics team. In this role, you will be responsible for safely operating flatbed trucks to transport goods across various locations, ensuring timely deliveries and maintaining high standards of safety and professionalism. This position offers an exciting opportunity to work in a fast-paced environment with a focus on delivering excellence in commercial driving and customer service.
Responsibilities
- Safely operate HGV Class 2 flatbed trucks for long-distance tramper routes, covering multiple regions as required
- Conduct thorough pre-trip and post-trip inspections to ensure vehicle safety and compliance with legal standards
- Load, secure, and unload cargo efficiently, adhering to proper handling procedures for flatbed transportation
- Maintain accurate delivery documentation, including delivery logs and vehicle inspection reports
- Communicate effectively with dispatch teams regarding schedules, route changes, or any issues encountered during transit
- Follow all traffic laws, safety regulations, and company policies to ensure safe driving practices at all times
- Assist with occasional warehouse duties or yard checks as needed to support overall operational efficiency
Requirements
- Valid HGV Class 2 (Category C) license with a clean driving record
- Proven experience as a commercial driver, particularly with flatbed or similar freight transportation
- Delivery driver experience with a strong understanding of route planning and time management
- Knowledge of safety procedures related to flatbed loading and securing cargo
- Ability to perform physical tasks such as lifting and securing loads on the truck bed when necessary
- Excellent communication skills and a professional attitude on the road and in interactions with clients
- Flexibility to undertake tramper shifts that may involve extended periods away from home
