What You’ll Be Doing
We are seeking a skilled and motivated Chef De Partie to join our Training Ground Facilities team.
This is an exciting opportunity to work within a high-performance football environment, supporting the preparation and delivery of nutritious, high-quality meals for First Team and Academy players, coaching staff, and employees.
Working closely with the senior kitchen team and performance nutrition staff, you will play an important role in delivering meals that support athletic performance, recovery, and overall wellbeing while maintaining the highest culinary and food safety standards.
Key Responsibilities:
Food Preparation & Cooking
Prepare and cook fresh, high-quality meals for First Team and Academy players, coaches, and staff.
Take ownership of a designated kitchen section, ensuring it operates efficiently and to the highest standards.
Deliver consistently high-quality dishes aligned with performance nutrition requirements.
Maintain excellent portion control and presentation standards.
Athlete Nutrition Support
Follow menus and meal plans developed alongside performance nutrition staff and senior chefs.
Prepare meals that support:
Work with high-quality fresh ingredients, including lean proteins, complex carbohydrates, and nutrient-dense foods.
Kitchen Operations
Maintain a well-organised and fully stocked kitchen section.
Support food preparation across key daily service periods including:
Breakfast
Post-training lunch
Recovery snacks
Contribute to the smooth running of kitchen operations during busy service periods.
Food Safety & Compliance
Maintain excellent food hygiene, HACCP, and food safety standards.
Ensure correct food storage, labelling, stock rotation, and temperature controls.
Comply with all health & safety and Club policies.
Support allergen management and food safety procedures.
Team Support
Work collaboratively with the wider kitchen team.
Support, guide, and assist Commis Chefs and Kitchen Assistants.
Contribute to the training and development of junior kitchen staff where required.
Promote a positive and professional kitchen culture.
Matchday & Travel Support
Assist with matchday catering operations.
Support food preparation for away fixtures, team travel, and training camps.
Ensure meals are prepared and delivered within strict performance timelines.
What We’re Looking For
You'll Have:
NVQ Level 2 or Level 3 in Professional Cookery.
Level 2 or Level 3 Food Hygiene Certificate.
Excellent food safety and allergen management knowledge.
Strong understanding of healthy eating, nutrition, and dietary requirements.
Excellent communication and teamwork skills.
Strong organisational and time management abilities.
Excellent attention to detail.
Ability to work calmly and effectively under pressure.
Passion for delivering high-quality food and service standards.
Experience
Minimum 3–5 years' experience working as a Chef De Partie within a high-volume, high-quality kitchen environment.
Experience working with fresh ingredients and preparing high-quality meals from scratch.
Experience working within structured kitchen operations.
Experience supporting and developing junior kitchen staff.
Experience maintaining food hygiene and HACCP standards.
Experience working to deadlines within a fast-paced environment.
Desirable
Experience working within professional sport, elite performance environments, hotels, hospitality venues, or contract catering.
Experience working alongside nutritionists or within health-focused catering environments.
Understanding of athlete nutrition and performance-based catering.
Experience supporting team travel, events, or large-scale catering operations.
