Full-Time Support Workers - Pay: £12.90 to £13.90 per hour + £45 to £75 per sleep-in
Hours: Full-time, including shared sleep-in duties
Waking Hours: 07:00–22:00 £13.50 to £14.50

Support Worker Overview
We are seeking compassionate and dedicated Support Workers to provide high‑quality care to individuals with Learning Disabilities, Complex Needs, and Challenging Behaviours. This role involves supporting people in a range of settings, including supported living, residential services, and community‑based environments.
Support Workers will help individuals with daily living tasks, communication, personal care, routines, and meaningful activities, while always promoting independence, dignity, and choice. A key part of the role is understanding each person’s triggers, preferred communication style, and support strategies, and responding in a calm, consistent, and person‑centred way.
Applicants should have a genuine interest in supporting people with learning disabilities and complex needs. Experience is helpful but not essential — full training, including behaviour support approaches, will be provided. Duties
- Assist clients with personal care tasks such as bathing, dressing, and grooming
- Support with medication administration following prescribed guidelines
- Prepare nutritious meals tailored to individual dietary requirements
- Help with mobility and transfer activities, including heavy lifting when necessary
- Engage clients in social activities and behavioural management strategies
- Provide companionship and emotional support to promote mental wellbeing
- Assist with household chores and light housekeeping duties
- Drive clients to appointments or outings as required, ensuring safety at all times
- Monitor health conditions and report any concerns to healthcare professionals
- Support clients with specialised needs such as Alzheimer’s, dementia, or hospice care.
Skills
- Experience in supported living for adults with complex needs is preferred, including backgrounds in assisted living, care environments
- Knowledge of patient care techniques and caregiving best practices
- Experience supporting individuals with learning disabilities, complex needs, and challenging behaviours would be an advantage for this role.
- Ability to perform first aid and respond effectively in emergencies
- Strong organisational skills for medication management and meal preparation
- Excellent communication skills for engaging with clients and team members
- Compassionate attitude with a patient-centred approach to care
- Ability to handle heavy lifting safely and assist with mobility support
- Valid driving licence for transportation duties is desirable but not mandatory
- Childcare experience or additional caregiving skills are considered a plus
