Job Summary
We are seeking a highly skilled and detail-oriented Toolmaker to join our dynamic manufacturing team. In this role, you will be responsible for designing, fabricating, maintaining, and repairing precision tools, dies, jigs, fixtures, and molds used in production processes. Your mechanical expertise will ensure that tooling operates efficiently and meets strict quality standards. Duties
- Fabricate and modify tools, dies, jigs, fixtures, and molds using various machining techniques such as grinding, milling, and welding.
- Interpret technical drawings and CAD (Computer-Aided Design) models created in SolidWorks or similar software to produce precise tooling components.
- Operate hand tools and power tools safely and effectively to assemble and adjust tooling equipment.
- Perform regular inspections and maintenance on existing tools to ensure optimal performance and longevity.
- Collaborate with engineers and production teams to troubleshoot tooling issues and implement improvements.
- Use basic math skills to measure, calculate tolerances, and verify dimensions during fabrication processes.
- Support plastics injection molding operations by creating or repairing molds tailored for specific product requirements.
Qualifications
- Proven experience as a Toolmaker or in a similar role within a manufacturing or industrial setting.
- Proficiency in grinding, milling, welding, and the use of hand tools and power tools.
- Strong mechanical knowledge with the ability to read technical drawings and interpret CAD files.
- Familiarity with SolidWorks or other CAD software for designing or modifying tooling components.
- Knowledge of plastics injection molding processes and mold maintenance is a plus.
- Ability to perform basic math calculations accurately for measurements and tolerances.
- Experience working with tooling materials such as metals and plastics is preferred.
- Excellent problem-solving skills with a focus on precision, quality, and safety.
