About Kensington Food Court
Kensington Food Court is looking for an experienced and passionate Thai / Malaysian Chef to join our kitchen team.
We are looking for someone who has a genuine passion for Southeast Asian cuisine and can prepare authentic, flavourful Thai and Malaysian dishes to a consistently high standard.
The Role
As our Thai/Malaysian Chef, you will be responsible for preparing and cooking a range of authentic dishes, ensuring excellent taste, presentation and consistency throughout service.
You will work as part of a busy kitchen team and play an important role in maintaining the quality and reputation of Kensington Food Court.
Key Responsibilities
- Prepare and cook authentic Thai and Malaysian dishes.
- Prepare fresh ingredients, sauces, curry pastes, marinades and garnishes.
- Maintain consistent portion sizes, quality and presentation.
- Ensure food is prepared and served efficiently during busy periods.
- Maintain excellent food hygiene, cleanliness and kitchen safety standards.
- Monitor food quality and freshness.
- Manage stock effectively and minimise food waste.
- Keep workstations and kitchen areas clean and organised.
- Follow food safety, allergen and health & safety procedures.
- Work closely with the kitchen team to ensure smooth and efficient service.
- Contribute ideas for new dishes, specials and menu development.
About You
We are looking for someone who:
- Has previous professional experience as a Thai and/or Malaysian Chef.
- Has strong knowledge of authentic Thai and Malaysian flavours and cooking techniques.
- Is confident preparing curries, stir-fries, noodles, rice dishes, soups, laksa, satay and other Southeast Asian dishes.
- Can work efficiently in a busy kitchen environment.
- Takes pride in the quality and presentation of their food.
- Has excellent attention to detail and consistency.
- Understands food hygiene and allergen requirements.
- Is reliable, hardworking and punctual.
- Works well as part of a team.
- Has a positive attitude and passion for cooking.
Experience
Previous experience in Thai, Malaysian or Southeast Asian cuisine is highly desirable.
Candidates with strong professional cooking experience and a genuine knowledge of Thai/Malaysian cuisine are encouraged to apply.
